We’re at SIIA…It’s Serious

We’re soaking up info about self insurance, captives, stop-loss, innovative drug solutions, wellness and so much more at the 39th annual national conference of the Self Insurance Institute of America. Shout out to some of our favorite exhibitors: Connect Healthcare, HMS, Springbuk, AscellaHealth and RxManage — to name just a few.  And a very special shout out goes to Bill Miller, CEO of Drexi. When the recording of Whitney Houston singing the Star Spangled Banner went out mid-song at the opening session on Tuesday, Miller picked up where Whitney left off! Of course, soon we all joined him to finish the song. But that takes guts! Here’s Bill, the unassuming rock star…

Who else is here? We thought you’d never ask. Well, there are brokers and TPAs. Also folks from the Rand Corporation, UC Berkeley, several state departments of insurance, Berkshire Hathaway, Blue Cross, United, Unum, Sun Life…the list goes on. It’s serious. Thankfully, though, the keynote speaker was comedian Greg Schwem and had us cracking up. If you want to know more, check out the November print issue of California Broker. We’ll fill you in…

A Word From Our Associate Publisher

Cal Broker Associate Publisher Naama O. Pozniak led meditation at the recent EBN Benefits Forum & Expo in Las Vegas. Here’s a note from Naama:

Think about it… it truly is mind over matter. When we practice yoga and meditation, our thoughts become one and we are able to actively connect our #body, #spirit and #mind. Every breath we take we implement healing one step at a time. It was so special to lead the session “Mind Over Matter: Meditation  For Focus & Healthcare Reduction Cost” in Las Vegas this past week. As we move into this new week, try taking one extra #inhale and #exhale as a reminder that we can all carry this mission together. Looking forward to continue sharing all over the 🌎  #mind #over #matter #meditation #yoga #healing #reduce #healthcare #costs #now #daily #love #agentsmakingadiffernce
